By focusing on leg, chest and back exercises (your biggest muscle group) you will speed up your metabolic rate through-out your routine and for hours (sometimes for days) afterword. Now that’s the real secret to getting rid of that ugly belly–fat. Not only do you increase your metabolic rate but your body stimulates and triggers fat-burning hormones when you exercise those big muscle groups. You just can not achieve this metabolic and hormonal response through the old fashion “grinding-ab” exercises..

You need to get off your butt and do some lunges, squats, back and chest exercises if you really want to lose that ugly belly fat. Look, your focus needs to be on big multi-joint exercises at a high intensity whether it be the barbells, or bodyweight exercises, whatever, but make it high intensity. No chatting with your friends for five minutes between sets for rest periods. You need to focus and do intense workouts to lose that stomach fat. When you go on a “diet” to get rid of that belly- fat, these diets only work against your body and all your efforts. Many of the fad diets such as low carb, low fat etc, that restricts you from 1 or more of the macro-nutrients (protein, carbs, and fat), more often than not, it will slow down your metabolic rate, and chances are you will lose lean muscle as well. Once you go back to a regular diet and eat normally, you put the weight right back on and then some.

Without carrying on and on discussing all these details, this essentially just messes up the processes related to your hormonal equilibrium in your body, ( blood sugar, insulin, the muscle glycogen process and so on), and this will stop any fat loss!

A properly balanced diet with lots of diverse foods from healthy natural sources of carbohydrates, proteins, AND fats is what we need to eat, not some gimmicky fad diet.
